Position Scope
To provide efficient and courteous assistance to guests in accordance with hotel standards
Position Requirements
- Fluency in English both written and orally
- Good customer/employee relations skills
Essential Responsibilities
• Welcomes every guest with a warm and sincere greeting
• Always says “Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening, Sir/Madam. Welcome to Hilton Alexandria Old Town.”;
• Uses the hotel guest’s name whenever possible
• Exhibits courteous manners in accordance with hotel standards using the phrase “Certainly, my pleasure” for the guest’s every request
• Anticipates and responds to all guests’ needs in a professional manner
• Escorts every guest to his/her destination within the hotel
• Increases customer utilization of hotel facilities by promoting hotel restaurant and other services and facilities to customers
• Acquires a knowledge of the hotel, in-house facilities, and local information to respond to customer questions in these areas as required
• Always remains at post in lobby when not assisting guests
• Escorts guests to their rooms upon check in
• Assists with baggage and escorts customers to room, placing baggage in room
• Inspects the customer’s room for order and adequate supplies and informs customer of room amenities
• Informs guests of hotel amenities and offers immediate and future assistance
• Leaves customer room key
• Facilitates prompt customer check out by assisting customers
• Assists customers to bring baggage from room to hotel entrance where responsibility Is transferred to a doorman
• Receives and stores customer baggage when requested; issues completed claim checks to customer when storing baggage
• Promotes hotel by bidding guest fond farewell inviting him/her to come back
• Assists guest with departure by contacting concierge or doorman with guest’s requirements as appropriated
• Requests and collects loose room keys from customers
• Assists doorman and valet as necessary
• Performs authorized messenger duty for the hotel and customers as required
• Delivers phone messages, mail or packages, faxes, telegrams, flowers, etc., to guest rooms and function rooms
• Collects outgoing laundry and dry cleaning from customers
• Pages customers in the lobby or other areas of the hotel as necessary
• Maintains the upkeep and appearance of the hotel
• Replaces promotional items as needed
• Performs ongoing clean up in the public areas of the hotel as needed by removing litter or obstructions
• Reports any maintenance/housekeeping deficiencies such as burned out lights or dysfunctional elevators to appropriate department in a timely manner
• Keeps furniture in public areas properly arranged
• Keeps baggage storage area clean
• Keeps bell carts clean and polished
• Contributes to the overall security of the hotel by reporting any unusual occurrences to security
• Notifies security of potential security problems with customers
• Turns lost articles in to “Lost and Found”
• Exhibits knowledge of all hotel emergency procedures
• Adheres to hotel policies and procedures
• Adheres to Personal Appearance Standards of position
• Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
• Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate
• Stays abreast of emergency and safety procedures in the workplace to prevent accidents

Position Requirement
The assistant Restaurant manager is expected to have direct involvement with guests and employees.
This is a “hands -on” position that requires active, vigorous leadership.
Considerable skill in complex mathematical calculations without error.
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
Ability to move throughout all food and beverage areas and hospitality suites and continuously perform essential job functions.
Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
Hearing, smelling, tasting and visual ability to observe and distinguish product quality and detect signs of emergency situations.
Frequently reaches, lifts, stoops, bend and cleans to maintain the Seagar’s entry way and lobby lounge
Walks and stands during scheduled shifts
Effectively communicates verbally with the guests and co-workers and management
English reading, writing and math skills required
Hazards include, but not limited to, slipping, tripping, falls and burns
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol

Essential Responsibilities
Oversee and supervise the daily restaurant, lounge and room service operations. Spend key hours on the floor of the outlets.
Review and approve all Food Service Staff employee schedules and labor projections. Achieve productivity goals. Any call offs or short staff need to be monitored and cover any shift necessary.
Review and implement the company standards, policies and procedures.
Complete monthly outlets meeting and safety inspection reports. Submit to Director of Food and Beverage
Ensure compliance with Food and Beverage Policy and Procedures Manual.
Participate in all company and franchise training and certification process.
Review and follow through on appropriate action bulletin items.
Interface with hotel's management team to ensure a teamwork approach.
Coordinate the inventory/order of paper supply for all outlets
Attend Food and Beverage staff meetings
Conduct and monitor a daily pre-shift meeting for all outlets
Proactively participate in the Resume meeting, any other hotel training or monthly reviews.
Create a PO for all F&B outlets needs based on budget and forecast
Plan and execute brunches and special events such as Mother’s day, Easter, Valentine’s Day, etc.
Ensure that all food and beverage equipments are operating correctly and, cleaned on daily basis
Acknowledgement of all guests within one min.
Anticipate and assess guest needs (i.e. seating preference or special requests)
Comfortably escorts guests to their table in a professional manner in accordance with the Dining Room Standards
Has complete and thorough menu knowledge
Knowledge of daily chef specials
Knowledge of alcohol including beer and wine
Consistently communicates with all essential staff members including Kitchen personnel
Takes guest reservations in accordance with Seagar’s standards
Assures guest satisfaction and comfort in the lobby lounge area
Assists the bar staff in lounge service when business dictates
Utilizes proper telephone etiquette when answering the restaurant telephone
